Who operates Fish’n Tell
Fish’n Tell is operated by Adam Christopher Neher, 120 N Dixon Rd #114, Kokomo, IN 46901, United States. Contact birdofsongs@gmail.com or 765-438-9006 about privacy, access, corrections or deletion.
Information you provide
Account information includes your email, username, profile and sign-in credentials. Your journal can include fish species, catch dates, measurements, notes, photos and fishing locations you choose to record. Family features also use parent–child account relationships and recorded parent permissions. We process membership status and purchase references, support messages and technical information needed to run and protect the service.
How we use it
We use this information to sign you in, save and synchronize your journal, show your collection and aquarium, provide sharing and competitions you choose to use, manage family permissions and membership, answer support requests, and investigate failures or misuse. Selected photos are processed for AI fish identification only when you use that feature. Manual species selection is available.
Photos, location and sharing
Camera, photo-library and notification access depend on your device permissions. Photos and text may reveal personal information; avoid including details you do not want others to see. Information shared to a circle or competition can be visible to its participants. Private storage does not make content private from people you choose to share it with. You can change device permissions in Settings.
Services that help us operate
Supabase provides accounts, databases and primary file storage. Cloudflare R2 holds a separate private photo backup. OpenAI processes photos submitted for AI identification. Kids Web Services (KWS) handles adult verification for the limited family test; Fish’n Tell receives verification status and references, not your card details or identity documents. Apple handles App Store purchases; Expo and platform notification services help deliver notifications. Resend delivers app emails. This support website is hosted by Cloudflare. Service providers may process data outside your country, including the United States, under their own service terms and applicable safeguards.
Children and parent choices
Public child registration is not enabled. Current family registration is a limited U.S. developer-team test using KWS Test. A parent reviews the notice, completes verification and separately grants permissions for the child’s journal and optional AI identification or circle sharing. A subscription is not parental permission. Parents can contact us to review, correct or delete their child’s information or withdraw optional permissions. In updated beta builds, Family accounts also offers child-account deletion. We will update the notice and eligibility controls before opening public child registration.
Retention and deletion
Journal and account data are kept while needed to provide your account. After an accepted account-deletion request, new data writes are blocked and cloud photos and account records are removed through a background process. Managed child accounts are included when their parent deletes their account. Owned circles and competitions are also removed. Independent photo copies are removed on the next backup run after explicit deletion is detected; photos unexpectedly missing from primary storage have a seven-day recovery window. Supabase database backups currently retain up to seven days of snapshots. They do not contain the stored photo files themselves. Completed deletion-job identifiers are retained for 30 days for operational checks. Support correspondence, provider logs and necessary purchase or security records may remain where needed to resolve a request, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations. Contact us for the status of a deletion request.
Your choices
Contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify account ownership. Available rights depend on your location. Export or save anything you want to keep before deletion. Copies saved on other devices or independently kept by recipients cannot be removed remotely. Deleting an app account does not cancel an Apple subscription: manage it with Apple.
Updates
We will update this page when our practices or available features change. Material changes affecting parent permissions will require an updated notice before those changes apply to child accounts.
